Velometer, Portable Air Flow Measuring Station, - Cambridge Filter Corp/PMS-M1&M2 This apparatus is used to measure air flow rates in ducted ventilation systems. It is designed specifically to balance air flow rates in systems with vent outlets or return air inlets having 9 x 9 or 15 x 15 inch dimensions. There are 2 flow measurement sections, a 15 x 15 inch section (M1) and a 9 x 9 inch section (M2). The M1 section has 2 interchangeable flow orifices. One for low flow conditions and the other for normal flow. Flow measurement uses an analog Alnor Velometer calibrated to read CFM. It has six separate measurement scales: one for each mode of operation. They are supply air and return air for the M2 section, the M1 section at high flow and the M1 section at low flow. Dimensions LxWxD inches: Section M1 = 15 1/8 x 15 1/8 x 4, Section M2 = 9 x 9 x 4 The unit is portable. A convenient 20 x 20 x 9 inch carrying case is included. This apparatus is used and has been well maintained. It is in very good mechanical condition. The photograph shows the actual item for sale. This device could be modified for continuous in-line monitoring of gas flow in a process system or research project. Such a modification would require recalibration of the velometer or inclusion of a manometric device but that's not a difficult challenge. The apparatus uses short lengths of tygon tubing to connect the Alnor Velometer to the measurement sections. An unused 18 inch length is included for your convenience. Manual is not available but some simple experimentation with the few available settings will answer most questions you might have.
