With the Crown V Just about anything is Possible
It has SW & MW Bands ( 535-1605 & 6-18)
The Radio works perfect and is perfectly Loud. The Phonograph Spins & Plays well but has low volume. It Certainly IS being amplified and sound DOES come out of Both Speakers; it's just not as loud as the radio section. This difficulity may be in the needle or cartridge.
The Cabinet is in Beautiful condition with Authentic Wood veneer and latch and hindges are in Excellent condition as well.
Tonearm Platter and inside where the turntable section is all in beautiful condition as well.
Very Clean Unit and Very Unique shape and style
I would reccomend a look into the volume issue of the phono unless you dont mind it with low volume.
Phono Works On all three speeds and Tone arm has the flip over Cartridge appears to be good but could be the low volume solution. I may have a styli and/or cartridge to fit this and if interested i will include them if you email or call and we can see if they are compatable, however it will be up to you to decide to change any of this if you purchase it. The stylus screws in to cart. with one screw. The Flip-over Cart. has STLP on One side and SP on the other side which is for 78's
The Platter is Beautiful in Chrome but has a gray rubber slipmat which distracts from the looks. It spins Nice and strong and has 3 speeds: 33 45 & 78
There is a stainless steel switch in the back for the 3 Speeds and Neutral. It is recommended that you keep it in neutral when not in use!
Also the Original Tag is still hanging off the tonearm.
There is a variable speed switch in the front and a lockdown for the tonearm and a 45 adapter post & adapter in the back.
The Radio Section works Beautifully and picks up stations from all over the world. It Features a 3 way switch knob for: Phono/MW/SW Then there is a seperate knob for Left and right volume as well as a balence meter in the middle which may need a shot of lube to work. Next is the Tunning knob. This knob works nice and strong and tuning is easy. It does not feature fine tuning but every little touch seems to tune the station your trying for or another station you may be seeking. Nice thing about this is there is very little fading in and out of stations as i have seen with other SW radios which indicates it has a great tuner and antenna for Pulling in stations. Mind you i tested this unit in the afternoon and again in the morning and was each time recieving many stations from over seas. knobs
The case and top are done in a nice shiney veneer finish
Also features a Nice Sturdy bakelite handle
It Operates on AC via an Removable AC adapter or Optional DC Power via (x6) batteries JIS UM or EQ (specs are on the back) Batteries actually Go where the AC adapter currently and this locks into position so there was no way to leave batteries in the unit.
Includes Perfect Condition Telescopic Antenna Nice speaker grills stainless steel or chrome cored carry Handle exposed on the sides
Needs a little more cleaning as i did some cleaning for the picture and your convience
This Radio/Phono is in Beautiful Condition with no dents or dings cracks or chips or bad blemishes of any kind
Recieves ALL BANDS BEAUTIFULLY
This Unit Has been Completely & Thoroughly Tested and it has been determined that All Features & Functions are in Perfect working Order with the exception of the phono volume may be lower than when it was first sold (back in the early 60's)
Cosmetically Very Good+ - Excellent
