BROWNING MARK III AM/SSB CB BASE STATION MINT! The "Collectors Estate" Presents: The beautiful Browning Mark III- a $750 radio in the 70s, easily the most expensive CB in its day. The Mark III is instantly recognizable for its distinctive design- machined-brass knobs, custom meters and lights; and of course, separate receiver and transmitter. Everything about the Mark III oozes quality! The special crystals in the transmitter were made to a much tighter, more accurate tolerance than standard CBs. Sturdy, hand-wired chassis with American components. Performance specifications higher than the competition. And, of course, the distinctive "Ping" sound when you key the mike- often imitated, but nothing sounds like a Browning! Receiver worked well; transmitter is on frequency and output good; modulation perfect. Slight, very low "hum" audible on receive. Like all quality, vintage radios, the Mark III would undoubtedly benefit from some attention like alignment, tube testing, etc. But as it is, it is in beautiful condition and ready to use or to prominently display. A unique and collectible D-104 mike is included with this radio. We did not test the mike, and you'll need to add your own mike plug. The mike has a distinctive chrome locking lever, and a black head and base.
