For sale is a lot of 5 polypropylene felt filter bags. These are identical to the polyester bags we also sell; only the material of construction is different. These are rated at 1 micron (nominal). They have a steel ring sewn into the top of the bag & have a glazed outer surface to reduce fiber contamination in the filtered solution. These also have a strap sewn across the mouth of the bag to facilitate removal from a housing when full (see picture) or to hang directly from an outlet pipe. Bags are industry standard size 1 (7" diameter & 16" long) and can be used in many size 1 filter housings or free hanging from a pipe attached with a fastener or clamp directly to the pipe. These will also work with the filter head adapters that we also sell. Polypropylene is fairly good with a maximum heat of 160-180 degrees F and is generally more chemical resistant than polyester. These are excellent bags for filtering most water solutions. Polypropylene is probably less desirable than polyester for waste vegetable oil (WVO) filtration as it tends to adsorb the oil (adheres to the fibers), thus blinding off a little sooner.
