The idea of splitting wood with a large steel splitting cone with a special steel screw tip has been around for decades. This is the only one that uses a solid steel splitting cone (you cant brake it) and that has been fitted with a coupler that enables it to work from the typical compact tractors post hole diggers. And can be fitted with a coupler of any size to fit on the Skid Steers auger. Just replace the dirt digging auger from the gear box of your posthole digger with this wood splitting Cone. WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF USING THE AUGER LOG SPLITTER RATHER THEN THE HYDRAULIC OR ELECTRIC ? Its Safe, Low Cost, Low Maintenance, Less "Physical Work," Faster production. And as for cutting logs in the production mode, consider this. If you had a ten foot log and needed to cut this into 16" lengths, so they will fit into your wood stove, you could split this ten foot log from the center with this splitter, but do not split it all the way, leave it hinged so that when you cut the length you want with the chain saw, you are cutting 2 already split pieces. Now you have just split and cut 16 pieces for your stove with only one splitting action. And because you can lift this log with your post hole digger and the wood splitting auger, simply by screwing down the center of the log just far enough to hold the weight of the log, now you can set the log up out of the dirt. ( Much easier on the chain saw.) pictures showing several logs split but still hinged and ready for the chain saw. This new solid steel splitting cone (We no longer use a hollow wood splitting cone as they have been known to brake at the welded seam) can last a lifetime. Using a category 1 diesel tractor, it can split logs as big as 4 ft round and 3 ft long from the bark side, and a 7ft round 18" long in the upright posision. And most important ,you don t need to manhandle the logs. Due to this fact you can split an entire tree from your tractor seat. It can split a 10 ft long,14" round log. One picture shows a 4 ft round by 3 ft long log that must weigh between 250 pounds to 300 pounds. This setup can transport this log and other heavy logs. And it can also split this log easily into wood stove size logs. And you can split your own cedar fence railing. Comes with an owners manual. Please take note that the splitter we make for the skid steers comes with the new, faster, unbreakable tip that also fits the stickler log splitter. The yellow model is not the one for sale, it is used for demonstrations. The above wood splitter is designed to operate from the typical post hole diggers made for the categorys 1,2,3, compact tractors. It fits over the 2" diameter shaft that has two 1/2" pin holes. If you wish to purchase a wood splitter for use on a skid steer, or a post hole digger that is hydraulic, then you must inform us because they require a different size coupler.
