Bridging/Balancing/Isolation Transformer Item: Potomac Instuments, Inc. IX-51 Audio Test Transformer Condition: Very good to excellent. Comment: No longer in production or available from Potomac. Vintage precision audio transformer specifically designed for test and measurement. This item is no longer produced or available from Potomac Instruments. This is a precision transformer with low insertion loss and capable of +24 DBM levels with no degradation of signal. It features a 600 Ohm switchable termination; thus it can also be used as a bridging transformer at 20K Ohm impedance. It is particularly useful for testing unbalanced audio equipment. It is also useful for attaching (by isolating ground) to unbalanced equipment such as osciloscopes. Refer to the pictures of the Potomac IX-51 DATA sheet for published specifications. Originally designed for use with Potomac Instrument's AA51 & AG51 test set. However, it comes with custom made adapter cables to allow interfacing with standard XLR connectors. The XLR standard makes this precision bridging/balancing transformer into a versatile shop or portable test tool.
