The Diaphragm-operated valve which, when opened, allows water to pass to the cistern. 2. A hydraulic accumulator that maintains an equal pressure on both sides of the diaphragm when fully charged. Reduction in pressure on the inlet side when other services are used causes the valve to open. 3. An adjuster (restrictor) screw which can be set during installation to set the 'open' time and thus the volume of water discharged into the cistern at each operation. The Cistermiser valve is normally closed and once installed the supply to the urinal cistern is cut-off. Short-term pressure variations eg. basin taps or W.C.'s will cause the valve to open. Water passes to the cistern while the valve remains open. After sufficient operations have filled the cistern the auto-siphon will discharge. At constant pressure e.g. during periods of non-occupancy no water passes to the cistern.
