The plow is a semi-mount plow that you attach the front end of the plow to the tractors three point hitch. This is how you pull it and also how you steer it, it is so long. The back of the plow rides on a wheel that is raised and lowered with a hydraulic cylinder. The wheel is also connected by a long rod that goes up to the front hitch so that when you turn the tractor, the rear wheel turns the other way so that the plow follows behind the tractor. It all works good. The plow is designed so that you can unbolt the outer two bottoms and make it into a six bottom plow. The next to the last photo shows the area where it comes apart. Then you rebolt the rear steering wheel back to a set of holes in the sixth bottom. All the other rods and steering shafts then telescope together and rebolt up shorter. It is a nice design. The plow bottoms are in good condition. The back edge of the mouldboards show very little wear. The shears are the newer throw away type that you can get at a Massey dealer or a aftermarket tillage company. The only shear that shows much wear is the front one. I have noticed on my plows that when that happens, it is usually from not having your tractors three point arms at the same level. The plow bottoms each have some sort of individual trip mechanism that lets the bottom swing back if you hit a big rock in the field. The last photo shows the part of the bottom where it swings back. The farmer I got this from took good care of it and kept the bottoms greased when it was not in use. I stuck it in the ground to clean off the plow coating so you could see the bottoms. Do not try and used a Ford New Holland 5610 tractor to pull this big thing like I did! It pulled it about two feet before it came to a swift halt! The farmer I bought it from was pulling it with a 1486 International Harvester tractor, but I bet that was in easy dirt! I do not know what the plow weighs. It is approximately 25 feet long and 11 feet wide. If you remove the land wheel on the side and the front hitch, it is less than 8 feet wide for a legal load on a truck.
