ZENITH R7000 Trans-Oceanic Radio 12- Band Shortwave Serial number on the bottom is 0012163P. The chassis number on the bottom states: 2WMR7000. It looks as if the original K in the series was blacked out and replaced with a stamped M just below. Looks to be a factory change. Must be an improvement or modification issue?? Comes complete with the original manual that explains each band and gives tips for better reception. This radio offers 12 bands including comprehensive coverage of Shortwave, AM, FM, Longwave and VHF frequencies. The R7000 is designed for operation on either 120V 60HZ AC or 240V 50Hz AC. Factory preset for use on 120V 60Hz AC. For outside the U.S., i.e. Canada and Mexico, you must change the Voltage Selector Switch to accomodate. The Trans- Oceanic can operate on 8 D-cell batteries or with a 12V vehicle adaptor (not included). The condition of the radio is excellent overall. I went through each band prior to listing and everythings fine. Tuner display illumination is fine (see photo). Signal meter moves accurately. This radio has 2 tune knobs. One is for general tuning and the other for fine tuning once the frequency is located. All functions work properly. There are no broken parts that you have to worry about. Antennae raises and lowers as it should. Holds in the upright position. Battery compartment is like new. The only cosmetic issue is the vinyl sides. One is missing and the other is starting to come unglued. I checked on replacements and found that most fabric stores will sell this type of vinyl.
