Brand new, never taken out of box.... There is a slim pump that goes on the inside of the unit. It has the ability to pump your coffee into your cup once the lid is closed with no problems and no mess. I know most of you have had to use these in a Convenient Store at least once. When the lid is closed you simply pick the lever up and press it until your cup is full. The lever will lock into place with the catch found at the back, top of the unit. I keep my lever closed because I like it that way but you can keep it open just like in the stores if you want to. I must also say here that when the unit is full you will only need to press the lever once for a cup of coffee. Two or three times as the unit empties. I also can just rinse it out after each use and once in a while I will take a little dish soap and a rag and a long cooking fork (handle end only) and really clean the inside. Do not immerse into water ever. This will cause permanent damage and it will not keep beverages hot or cold well. And you can take a cloth or paper towel to wipe the outside. I take a little glass cleaner and spray on a paper towel to get the fingerprints off. You can put hot or cold beverages in it. You will find a button on the front top of the lid that you click to open the lid. The lid will fold upward and back allowing you to pour your beverage into it with no problems. You then put the pump in and close the lid until you hear it click. Your unit is ready to use. The Air Pot/Carafe may be a Bakers and Chefs or Select Air depending upon what is in stock.
