It measures 1 inch by 5 inches and is wound with 33AWG high temperature magnet wire. Approximately 1-2 feet of unwrapped magnet wire is left on each end of the coil (see picture). The secondary form is 1/8th inch thick clear acrylic tube. Acrylic is superior to PVC pipe in many ways; acrylic absorbes less water, and allows for better operation in high frequency environments. The secondary is coated with 3-5 layers of high quality Q-Dope - it offers superior protection to normal polyurethane varnish.
