Fresnel Lens IR2 FL 0.53 in. Minor Scratch Qty 2 These lenses made by Fresnel Technologies, Inc.( ), are designed to pass long and medium wavelenth IR spectra. Due to the Fresnel pattern, a lens can be fabricated from very thin material. Each of these lenses is about 0.015" thick, so the IR absorbtion is very low. Poly IR2 material is thermally stable and can withstand most solvents easily. These Fresnel poly IR2 lenses are excess production, and have been in storage in my home workshop. They are uncut, so you are getting some IR pass material around the edges. The outer diameter of a lens is roughly 1.0". Although the lenses are lightly scratched (cf. final photo, below), that usually does NOT pose real problems due to the predominance of other effects in wide band IR optics. (I"ve color enhanced the final photo, so you can clearly see the scratches on a sample lens; and, also, the rings of its concentricity.) Fresnel lenses are optimized for IR, so visual transmission is slightly attenuated. Also, the lenses are lo-diff parts, but are fabricated with grooves out to optimize low diffraction properties.
