New - Blacklight with special Invisible Ink Marker which is detectable by the black light. This item is for a blacklight and flashlight unit all in one. The unit is the size of a small pager which is about 3". This item comes with a special marker that writes in invisible ink which is detectable by using the black light. The Ink Glows Purple when it is illuminated under a black light. There MANY uses for this pen and light set (see below for some examples). Here are a couple of examples of uses for this item: Great to stop switching: If you sell items and if there is a possibility for returns, you can mark your items with the invisible ink marker before the item is sent. If a return is necessary, you will be able to detect if it was the item that you sent originally by checking your marks that you made. This is a great way to head off switching. Excellent tool to curb Theft at Colleges: This is a proactive approach to curbing crime. Schools are welcoming students to use this marker to write their drivers license number or social security number on hand-held computers, bicycles and other often stolen items. The ink markings enable police to identify the owners of stolen items recovered from pawn shops or other locations. This is also good to mark your books. Taking an item in for service and want to be sure that your receive the same thing back: If you were taking an item in for service and you want to ensure that you receive the same item back. You could mark it in the invisible ink and check the item when it is returned to ensure that you received your original item. Excellent way to propose marriage: Want to really surprise her? Write your message on a piece of paper and give her that piece of paper with the black light. Let her figure out what she has to do to read the message. While she is figuring it out, you would be getting the ring ready to present. Great element of surprise! Great way to write passwords: You could write your password on your desk right in front of your computer or on a separate piece of paper undetectable to others. Only you would know where your wrote your special passwords to recall at a later date. Great way to write special messages: You could write your special messages to friends and when they receive the message, they would only be able to read it since it would be written in the invisible ink and they would have a black light "decoder". Great for level control: If you think that underage children in the house are drinking your liquor, you could mark the level of the bottle to find out if any has been consumed by others. Great for marking Tools: Do you work in an environment that you may need to share your tools. Ever have a problem with the person that borrowed the tool claim that it is their tool? Now you can prove it is your tool. You can mark your tools with the invisible ink marker and when that person says that it is their tool, you can pull out the black light and illuminate the area that you marked proving that it is your tool. Great for catching thieves: If you know that you have a thief and know who it is (or not) and would like to catch them red-handed, this would be a great way to mark cash or other items. Great toy: My child loves things that he does not understand or see. This is something that will definitely fascinate a child. Great night light for the kids: Rather than a night light, give them the black light with built in flashlight for bed time. The first couple of days, your child will play with it until they fall asleep (at least my child did). Eventually, they will learn that it is a handy tool to see in the middle of the night if they wake and need to use the bathroom. Good for lapidary artists to mark your rock collection: You can assign your rocks numbers and write them using the invisible ink marker and the black light to view the number later. This is a great way to assign a catalog number to the individual rocks in your rock collection. This will work great on rough surfaces. Excellent to determine if a Military Patch is an original or a replica: I had a collector of military patches purchase one of these sets to determine if the patch was an original or an imitation. The original Patches from World War II are made out of Cotton. Replica's are made of nylon. Nylon will glow under the black light. When the black light is used to illuminate the patch, the patch will glow if it is a replica and (of course) not glow if it is an original made of Cotton. Great for old Glass collectors: When shining this on old glass (before 1914), it will make the glass turn a yellowish green. The Magnese in the old glass lights up under a black light. This element was used before WWI because it came from Russia and it could not be found in great quantities during the war so glass companies started using Selinuim to make the glass clear (at least that is what a lot of old glass collectors say on their websites on old glass). Great for showing your loyalty to Blue Man Group: I attended the Blue Man Group show a couple years ago when I was in Vegas at the Luxor. I noticed they had black lights incorporated into their show. We visited Las Vegas again in March 2004 and went to the show again. I wrote a message on my blue man group black shirt using the ultra-violet ink. I wrote Blue Man Group Rules. It was noticed by one of the blue men when they walked into the audience. My shirt got me a little more attention than I wanted. During the show, I got a marshmallow thrown at me along with a Jell-O mold. It was a fun time anyway. If you are ever in Las Vegas and get a chance to see Blue Man group, I whole heartedly recommend the show. It is worth the $90 they charge for the show. Great When Organizing a Gambling Casino Night: Are you having your own World Poker Tour Event? Having a charity Gambling Event? Just having a Poker Night with the guys? Counterfeiters are getting better and better. Mark all your chips with a uniform special invisible mark or number them with an invisible mark before distributing them. If you suspect someone is bringing in counterfeit chips and trying to cheat your event, you can sniff this problem out right away.
