We Have Put This Magnet Through Its Paces: We have seen what this magnet can do and have put it through its paces. To demonstrate the attractive force of this magnet, we attached a chain to the magnet's hook and placed the magnet on a welded chunk of milled steel that weighed in at precisely 349.8 lbs.. Using a chain hoist, we were able to lift the steel off of the floor relying solely on the magnet's intrinsic attractive force to suspend the steel in midair (SEE CAUTION BELOW -NEVER USE THIS MAGNET TO SUSPEND A METAL OBJECT OVER TOP OF PERSONS OR VALUABLE PROPERTY). Rare earth magnets are the strongest naturally occurring PERMANENT magnets on Earth. Unlike inexpensive and semi-permanent ferrite or alnico magnets, rare earth magnets are immensely stronger and are comprised of alloys of rare earth elements.
