This is a vacuum press used for some sort of hard disc manufacturing application. The assembly is made of stainless steel. Its spring loaded with alignment pins that separate the jaws by about 2 mm when pressure is released. When vacuum is ran to the input line, the jaws compress the disc. The assembly is made for 3.5" hard discs, but could probably be used for other applications.
