The FTS-17A is a subaudible CTCSS (Continuous Tone-Controlled Squelch) Encoder/Decoder, which offers programmable selection of 38 tones for transmission, and matching filter/detectors for reception. Transmit-only ("T", or encode) and transmit/receive ("T SQ", or encode/decode) modes are selectable from keys on the transceiver. The documentation shows the installation for Yaesu handhelds: Ft-411/ -811/ -911/ -26/ -76/ -415/ -815/ -416/ -816. On-line references show it also used in the Yaesu FT-2500/ -2400/ -3000. This unit has been sitting unused on a shelf in its original box for about 20 years. It has never been installed in a radio. I assume it works but I have not verified it does. Included: FTS-17A in original packing sleeve, instruction booklet and original box. The photo of the unit is a stock photo. The actual color of the components on the chip may vary from the picture.
