Merco M820 Metal Shielding Electrical Tape Why pay for 3M’s when you only need one!™ M820 is an all-metal .005 tinned copper braid used primarily for shielding all high voltage splices and terminations. Highly conformable, M820 is intended to continue shielding across a splice. Non-flammable and non-corrosive, and compatible with cable oils, common solvents and adhesives. Easily soldered, M820 meets ASTM B33 standard. The best part? M820 is comparable to 3M #24. Well, the real best part is the price. The last 3M wholesale price we have is summer of 2004 (we’re not exactly on their mailing lists…) At that time, the 3M distributor pricing for #24 was $9.79 per roll.
