* The Digitizing Probe is a single point force contact stylus. * It is held in the spindle (while turned off) of a CNC mill just like a tool bit. * It is set to automatically raster scan a surface and record the (x,y,z) coordinates within a user specified xy scan envelope. * The x sample distance and y raster increment are specified by the user with a resolution of 0.001 inches. * The scan method can be either xy rastering or xy spiral rastering as shown in the figures below. * Many applications in reverse engineering and replicating unique shapes are possible. * Comes with a approx. 36" cord with what appears to be 2 light gauge wires connected to approx 1/2" round 8 pin connector. * Will plug into the 'in-out' plug on the back of control box that came with the MicroProto Mill. * ALSO COMES WITH MPS DOS SOFTWARE! * NEW!
