Plant to have final stands 3.5 - 4' apart in rows that are 8 - 12' apart. Giant variety pumpkins require 30 to 40 square foot per plant. Fertilizing: A soil pH of 5.5 - 6.8 is ideal. Apply 30 - 50 lbs of nitrogen (N) per acrea broadcast. Apply phosporus and potash based fertilizers prior to planting.
