It is a true digital tuning and display PLL radio with many tuning methods including ATS (Auto Tuning System) which can fill up the memory positions automatically with the strongest stations that it finds. This is great for travelers when they visit a different city. The ATS function is best for the AM and FM bands. The KA11 has 1,000 memories to store every one of your favorite stations. It receives FM in stereo from 70 to 108 mHz, AM Medium Wave from 520 to 1710 kHz and Shortwave from 5.80 to 18.10 mHz. The sound quality is crisp and the reception sensitivity is excellent. The physical size is 4 1/4 w x 2 3/4 h x 1" d and it weighs less than 6 ounces without batteries. The KA11 can tune any frequency between 5.8 and 18.10 mHz but can very quickly jump between the popular shortwave broadcast meter bands of 49, 41, 31, 25, 22, 19 and 16 meters. The direct entry keypad is very easy to use despite the mini size of the radio. The LCD display allows the viewing of the frequency, digital clock as well as the signal strength at the same time along with other information including the temperature. The complete package includes the KA11 worldband AM FM Shortwave radio, stereo ear buds, external wire antenna, a 110 volt AC adapter / charger, hand strap / rear stand and an English manual all in the retail packaging box.
