SPRING IS HERE AND SO ARE THE WEEDS. This is a 1948 Ford 8N tractor (ser.# 103139). These tractors were the measure of all small farm tractors in it's day and may be as strong and capable now as when it was new. When taken care of, they just keep going and going and going. There is no shortage of parts to keep them working and with a simple manual, you should be able to do most of the work yourself. I have used it to mow almost 5 acres with a 6' bushhog and it handles it very well. Tranny and rear end are good and the engine starts right up even in cold weather. It does NOT foul plugs and burns very little oil. It has been converted to 12 volts. Tires are good and useable but has weather cracks in the rear ones. Hydrolic system is strong and holds it's position well. PTO has a ratchet coupler to keep the mower from pushing the tractor in turns when the clutch is in. Rear axle seals seem to be good with no evidence of leakage. The mechanical brakes never were any good from the beginning but will stop the tractor with a little force and will aid in turning. Sheetmetal is in good condition except for rust spot on left front side of hood as shown in the picture. Lights are there but not hooked up. I will deliver the tractor within 100 miles from my place for $1.50 per mile one way. Delivery charges are to be paid in cash at the time of delivery before the tractor is unloaded.
