Buff Orpingtons were introduced from England in the late 1800's. These are large stately birds with a quiet disposition. Their heavy, full plumage make them excellent winter layers. They will lay brown eggs right through cold weather. They are also excellent setters and mothers. Adults have a glistening gold plumage, the baby chicks are a soft light buff color.
