SECURITY PLUS SAFETY FOR YOUR LIVESTOCK
AN ELECTRIC fence provides the farmer with the best means of keeping livestock within a given area. Cattle or other animals soon learn to respect a wire charged with enough just enough electricity to make it a deterrant.
The wire is not continuously 'hot' but is actually charged at intervals of about one second, to permit slow moving animals to recover from a sting and back away easily. The intermittant action is usually governed by a control unit using a balance wheel, pendulum, or other mechanism to cause a time delay in the action. The unit in this package uses a motor-driven cam switch. Power is obtained from the regular AC line.
Here in the Southwestern U.S., feral pigs are a major nuisance, because they're more intelligent than most farm animals. They respond to a strand of electric fence placed low enough to stop the piglets, and the adults can't jump like deer or goats. Overnight they find other places to forage besides your property.
THIS PACKAGE CONTAINS Four pages which I have enlarged 125% for clarity and your reading enjoyment containing the plans, a materials list, suppliers (dated), subassembly photos, subassembly drawings, diagrams for insulators, fence splicing, a lightning arrestor, a gate, finishing tips, plus installation drawings to match your setup to the height of the animals you want to keep in (or out).
