RME 45 General Coverage Receiver & Matching Speaker! RME 45 General Coverage Receiver & Matching Speaker! This RME 45 General Coverage receiver & Matching Speaker are both in good working condition. I have tested the receiver on the air with the matching speaker and the receiver has excellent audio and great sensitivity. I was able to receive signals on all bands and it appears to be working as it should on AM. The BFO does not appear to be working and probably needs a new tube for that circuit. The electrolytic capacitors have all been changed to modern and safe capacitors. The S-meter is working as it should and the AVC circuit does work rather well. It is amazing how well this 60 year old receiver does work as it was made from 1946 to 1948. The flat tin plate on the bottom is missing but it is just a flat piece of tin and easy to replace. The cosmetic condition is good and both the cabinet for the receiver and speaker has been over sprayed and looks good. The Mail Dial is a bit faded on the lower left side. The Speaker looks to be in great shape with the proper 4 pin octal plug to plug right into the receiver. It has really nice deep rich sound. I have an extra nomenclature plate for the bottom controls as well as the crystal filter controls which I will include with the receiver and speaker to help in case you want to restore this great receiver.
