Three books on this one CD. Northeastern Loggers Handbook, Forest Loader Handbook, and Oldham Saw Works Handbook. 239 pages in all. The Forest Loader Handbook is from circa 1915. This features a derrick system for loading log cars plus other uses of the derrick. 27 pages. From 1918 we also have the Oldham Saw Works Handbook. Oldham Saw Works manufacturered band saws. This book also includes a history of the band saw and other saws. 62 pages. Following World War 2, the United States government produced the Northeastern Loggers Handbook to encourage people to start logging operations to help in the recovery effort. This is not a book of photos of dramatic forests and wirey loggers but rather is a complete guide to the actual logging operation itself. 150 pages. All three books are included on this one CD. You can print out any page that you want or you can print all 239 pages and have a place like Kinko's spiral bind it for a few dollars. This is great material for the logging history buff and for the model builder as well. With this information you can find lots of fascinating details to add to your logging scene plus insure it's accuracy.
