This is a nice HP 8553B RF section for use with a 141T Display Main Frame. It has two frequency ranges – 0 to11MHz and 0 to110MHz. Scan width is selectable from 10MHz per div down to 20Hz per division and the bandwidth is selectable from 300KHz down to 20Hz. It also supports Zero Span for single-frequency measurements. It makes absolute amplitude and frequency measurements from 1 kHz to 110 MHz. It is ideal for use with an HP 8443A tracking generator for making high dynamic range (70 dB) measurements of IF amplifiers and filters such as 455 kHz IF sections. This unit has been thoroughly checked out and is in excellent working condition. The dial and all front panel controls move freely and are all fully functional. See the photo below of the display of the 88 to 108 MHz FM band here in Phoenix Arizona when used with my HP 141T analyzer and a few inches of antenna wire. With the exception of the small chip in the frequency read out bezel (as shown in one of the photos), I would rate this one as an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10 cosmetically.
