Datasheet: muRata Ceramic Filters (869K PDF) (View additional application document links below.) Wide operating temperature: -20° ~ +80° C ( -4° ~ +176° F ) Encapsulated in shielded metal cans with grounding tabs. The CFS filters have an exceptional 15 elements to produce the narrow pass-bands and steep skirts required for optimum Shortwave AM reception. Install in the intermediate or final IF stages for best performance. The CFL filters have a wider pass-band to allow the broader bandwidth signals such as wide-AM, NBFM, digital, etc. to pass unrestricted. They perform best at the front-end of the IF strip. Install just after the mixer or between the 1st and 2nd IF stages to provide the intitial, critical out-of-band rejection, and a clean signal for further amplification. These are high-performance filters designed for high-class communications receivers. The selectivity of a combination of CFL at the front-end and a narrow CFS at the back-end of a shortwave receiver IF amplifier will rival those high-end HAM / SWL / commercial radios. Upgrade your HAM, SWL, Shortwave receiver.
